Mussenden Temple and Downhill Demesne

Click here to take the 3D Virtual Tour Frederick Hervey, Bishop of Derry, had an appetite for drama and chose a wild coastal headland for a mansion and temple. The mansion is in ruins but the landscape park remains.

Bellaghy Bawn

Exhibits inside this restored, fortified house of 1618 include local history, the Ulster Plantation and the writings of Bellaghy-born poet Seamus Heaney. Wheelchair access limited.

Finvoy Fun Farm has a host of rare breeds such as llamas, a white peacock and everyday farm animals including silky and polish hens, turkeys, ducks, several goats, ponies and miniature donkeys. There’s even a chipmunk and a pair of reindeer!

Downhill is an excellent beach of golden sands stretching from Downhill Cliffs towards Magilligan Point. It is overlooked by one of Northern Irelands leading landmarks, the Mussenden Temple and benefits from classic views of Donegal Coast and beyond.

21.2 hectares of mature conservation mixed woodland overlooking the River Bann, Mountsandel Wood contains the oldest known human settlement in Ireland.

Joey Dunlop Memorial Garden

Joey Dunlop, born in Ballymoney in 1952, was affectionately known to motorcycle racing fans and competitors alike as, 'King of the Roads' and 'Yer Maun.' Through his courage and ambition he became one of the most successful riders of all time.

World of Owls

Northern Ireland's only owl and bird of prey conservation educational centre. Owls from around the world, falcons, hawks, etc. Petting Park . Make friends with small animals, including our Alpacas, miniature donkey and Soay sheep. Café.
