Saint Lurach's Church

The town of Maghera is a site of religious significance from ancient times. The present day ruins of St. Lurach's Church date back to the 10th Century and it stands on the 6th Century monastery founded by St. Lurach, the patron saint of Maghera.

Garvagh Museum and Heritage Centre
- Garvagh, Coleraine
Situated in the walled garden of the former Garvagh Estate, the museum houses collections which cover most aspects of rural and domestic life in the 19th and early 20th Centuries.

World of Owls

Northern Ireland's only owl and bird of prey conservation educational centre. Owls from around the world, falcons, hawks, etc. Petting Park . Make friends with small animals, including our Alpacas, miniature donkey and Soay sheep. Café.

Mountsandel Fort

21.2 hectares of mature conservation mixed woodland overlooking the River Bann, Mountsandel Wood contains the oldest known human settlement in Ireland.

Tirnoney Dolmen
- Maghera
One mile north of Maghera stands a prehistoric tomb at least 4,000 - 6,000 years old. Dolmens are tomb structures with standing stones and a horizontal capstone, found in a number of places in Ireland.

Guy L. Wilson Daffodil Garden
- Coleraine
Rare collection of Irish-bred daffodils and narcissi. The garden is a memorial to the daffodil breeder Guy Wilson. Wheelchair access from sports centre car park.

Ballykelly Forest
- Garvagh, Coleraine
Sited at Walworth is Northern Ireland's first state forest which includes a picnic area, walks and jogging trail. There are some 19th-century water mills at Carrickhugh.

Portglenone Forest

Portglenone Forest continues a history of tree cover on this site established since records began. As such, the 26 hectare main area contains extensive colonies of ancient woodland flower species.
